Senior Living options:
55+ SENIOR APARTMENTS
A 55+ community is an apartment setting designed to accommodate people that are at least 55 years of age. In general, the atmosphere, layout, and amenities are meant to provide for the needs of this age group, rather than, for example, young families. The complex may have very specific stipulations on who can live within the community with the goal of keeping the residents in this upper age limit thriving with independence.
independent living
Independent living communities are usually designed and arranged specifically for older adults, and the type of housing they provide are from apartments to townhomes to single family homes or cottages. Some communities have additional amenities to suit your individual preferences or lifestyle such as transportation, meals, housekeeping and an array of activities both social and physical.
assisted living
Assisted living communities are for seniors who want to remain independent in a home-like setting but need non-medical assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as eating, bathing, dressing, maintaining good hygiene and toileting. The person in assisted living typically pays monthly rent for a private or shared room and an additional fee for the level of care needed. In Texas, there are two types of Assisted Living communities.
-
Communities care for residents who do not require routine attendance during sleeping hours and are capable of following directions in an emergency.
-
Communities care for residents who require staff assistance to evacuate, are not capable of following directions in an emergency and require nighttime attendance.
residential living
Residential Living or Personal Care Homes are group living arrangements in a small community or residence operated for the purpose of providing necessary supervision, personal assistance, and meals, and are not related to the owner. These care homes may appeal to seniors that are more comfortable in a smaller group environment. Socialization is still abundant but, in a cozy, and more personalized setting for those who prefer more meaningful peer to peer relationships.
memory care
Memory care is a specialized form of care for seniors struggling with memory loss due to dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments. Specially trained staff deliver personalized care focused on keeping your loved one comfortable, engaged, and safe.
